				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever heard about the science of nutrigenomics? No? I thought so. Wikipedia explains that nutrigenomics is a branch of nutritional genomics and is the study of the effects of food and food constituents on gene expression. This means that nutrigenomics is research focusing on identifying and understanding molecular-level interaction between nutrients and other dietary bioactives with the genome. </p>
<p>The reason why I’m writing about this is to explain the importance of the development of this science and how it will change food industry. First of all, it is important to explain that currently some of the largest food companies are investing a lot of money in R&#038;D. Moreover, scientists are explaining that the science of nutrigenomics is very young and business will have to wait a bit for any substantial research to be done. </p>
<p>However, the unique value proposition and benefit for a consumer is very clear and simple. According to your genome science will be able to determine what kind of products, ingredients you have to consume and which one you have to avoid. For example, your genome shows that you have a higher risk to have problems with your gut when you will grow older. In this case you will have your unique menu of food with active ingredients which will decrease the risk to face these problems.</p>
<p>This science will put functional beverages industry to the second level. New category will emerge which will be called personalized functional beverages. Consumers will have a capability to get their individual products according to their needs. You know what? This is what I call functional product… </p>

2)	It is an additional tool to develop well-rounded individuals with higher motivation to succeed and learn. People who don’t have experience are able to test their skills with project that they would never get in the high scale business right from the start.<br />
3)	The market becomes much healthier and more varied. Thanks to the technological advancement and increased competition between small businesses, start-ups and already established businesses are required to develop their products quicker, more efficiently and cheaper. The force of the ideas developed by the individuals who notice the holes in the market help to untie the consumers from the big businesses and to search for new solutions that suit their needs more specifically.<br />
4)	Start-ups are socially responsible endeavors. As most of the startups are fueled by the venture capital, today more than ever investors can direct with an unprecedented exactness where their money goes. This raises the bars for these small companies to create products and ideas that are worth pursuing and back the responsibility back on the investor to invest in something sustainable, increasing each market players social and environmental responsibility.<br />
5)	This is the future of big business. It is hard to ignore huge companies that evolved from small garage startups and are now dictating the pace of innovation all around the world.</p>
<p>Currently the highest startup saturation is focused in the IT industry, but to reach the balanced global innovation we need to invite new smart people with unconventional and courageous ideas to other industries. </p>
<p>So we call for startups in the Nutraceutical industry for these main reasons:</p>
<p>1)	Nutraceuticals is a quickly growing industry which is relatively new with tons of holes in the market that are waiting to be filled by aggressive brilliant ideas.<br />
2)	The currently aging population is driving the Health Care expenditures to the all time highest rates and it is proven that balanced nutrition and healthy focused on preventable diseases product can reduce them.<br />
3)	Nutraceutical market is currently dominated by the food giants so most of the products are created around the large table by the people who are driven by investor relations rather than innovation, so there is a need for change.<br />
4)	There are many supply chain problems that require unconventional solutions that are born in highly entrepreneurial environments.<br />
5)	With the right initiative these young idealists could leave an enormous impact on the overall wellbeing and health of our society. </p>
<p>To sum up – MyDrink is calling young and innovative pharmaceutical and medical specialists that have ideas for improving consumer health via nutrition and know how to capitalize on them. These would be the areas where any initiative is highly motivated:</p>
<p>1)	Obesity related disease prevention<br />
2)	Improvement of the elderly consumer health<br />
3)	Heart and cardiovascular system improvement<br />
4)	Malnutrition related disease prevention<br />
5)	Balanced children nutrition </p>
<p>So MyDrink suggest that entrepreneurs should look around, pick up a sheet of paper and a pen and start planning the future where they would want to live in.  </p>

<p>It’s known that European Nutraceutical industry was valued at US $ 35 Billion in 2010. Its Annual Average Growth Rate was 14.7% at 2002 to 2010 compared to 7.3% at 1992 to 2002 (table no.1). Which shows us that there is a huge potential in nutraceutical industry as it is still growing. At 2012 market size of Europe nutraceutical industry should be somewhere around US $ 45 – 50 Billion.</p>

<p>At 2010 nutraceutical market was a bit different. For example, we can look at at functional ingredients profile at 2010 (table no.2). It shows us that there were four main target areas for nutraceutical ingredients such as cardiovascular diseases, weight management, cognitive health, bone and joint health. Nowadays, we can see a bit broader view. There are several additional target areas such as obesity, elderly consumer and digestion problems.<br />

<p>It’s interesting to know that Functional Food &amp; Beverages market size in Europe at 2012 was US $ 12 Billion which is 34%. During my analysis I’ve found that at 2012 market size for Functional Beverages at 2011 was US $ 12 Billion (table no.3).</p>

<p>Europe is driven on the basis of health claims. Companies are trying to adapt their products to EFSA requirements. Slow pace of regulatory approvals for health claims due to a heavily regulated market is a huge problem for small innovative nutraceutical companies in Europe. Sometimes I envy Asia and USA companies who could move way much faster compared to us.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week we were travelling to London to <a title="IFE Food and Drink exhibition" href="http://www.ife.co.uk/" target="_blank">IFE food and drink exhibition</a>. It’s not a very big exhibition like <a title="SIAL exhibition" href="http://www.sialparis.com/" target="_blank">SEAL in France</a> or <a href="http://www.anuga.com/en/anuga/home/index.php" target="_blank">Anuga</a> in Germany. However, it is very useful to visit it in case you are interested to see new trends in beverage industry. What was the difference between IFE in 2011 and 2013?  Although I do not know the amount of exhibitors in 2011 and 2013, however, I saw a huge decrease in visitors. I think that exhibition attracted way smaller amount of visitors comparing to 2011.</p>
<p>Anyway, it is still interesting to analyze the market. I saw several interesting trends. First of all, the decrease of energy drink brands. At 2011 there were more than 15 different energy drink brands (with the same formula). Last week I saw only few of those. In my opinion, it is very boring to promote “standard redbull type energy drink with different brand”. I don’t know whether those guys are successful, however, the lack of originality is really an issue.</p>
<p>Secondly, the increase of coconut water. They are everywhere. Different brands, different formulations, different concepts. It seems that my article about <a title="How to see beverage industry trends using Google" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com/how-to-determine-beverage-trends-using-google.html" target="_blank">determining trends with Google</a> was right to the target.</p>
<p>Finally, the most interesting part was to visit <a title="Super!Natural energy drink" href="http://www.drinksupernatural.com/" target="_blank">Super!Natural</a> stand. I’m really glad about the feedback of the taste and formula of the drink. MyDrink Beverages helped to develop this drink and we are really proud of it. I was searching for some numbers about beverage trends. However, as you may already know, numbers are very expensive and you cannot get it for free.</p>
<p>Do you know what is the cheapest and most efficient way to determine future trends in beverage industry? It is very simple. You can use <a title="Google trends" href="http://www.google.com/trends" target="_bla&lt;code&gt;nk">Google Trends</a>! It&#8217;s great, you can compare different kind of products, markets. You can analyze specific country, time period etc. . Just take a look! Below you will find some interesting results that I&#8217;ve found.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve compared 5 type of well know beverages: energy drinks, ice teas, juice drinks, soft drinks, water drinks. Time period starts at 2004 and ends at 2013. Google also allows to make a small prognosis (dotted line). You can also choose the specific country, however, the image above shows worldwide results.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting to see the energy drink trend is beggining to decrease starting from 2010-2011. Which is totally true as worlwide market size started to decrease at the end of 2011. Can we say that Google is showing current market trends? Can we search for possible trends in beverage industry using Google trends? I will leave this answer to you..</p>
<p>Moreover, other numbers are also very interesting. Just take a look at soft drink trend which is decreasing since 2004. It can show us that consumers are looking for healthy non-carbonated products.</p>
<p>Additionally, we can see that water is becoming very popular. At 2004 it was below energy drinks, ice teas, and even soft drinks. Nowadays, it&#8217;s above everyone else.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve changed a filter to analyze the result for UK market. We can see a bit different picture. We can see a flat trend of energy drinks at 2012-2013. Can we make a presumption that we should expect to see a decrease of interest in energy drink in UK? I’m pretty sure about that…</p>

I found a lot of interesting concepts and already introduced products for packaging of soft-drinks. I think the most interesting packaging solutions is for self-heating and self-cooling beverages. As far as I know there are a lot of self-cooling and self-heating patented technologies, however, the problem is that there are not leader. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was always impressed by the IT industry. These guys manage to develop, launch and test their products during 2-4 months. In case they see that the product/service is not successful they close the project and start a new one. Lean business methodology was born also in IT industry. Nowadays, I see that other industries are trying to copy these methodologies as well. Beverage industry is no different. We are always seeking how we could shorten beverage development process and speed up wit the production.</p>
<p>There are two main problems in beverage industry: time and investment size for the project. Today I will talk only about time factor. Is it possible to create lean beverage start-up methodology? Yes it is.</p>
<p>Usually the process of beverage development takes up to 2-3 months. It depends on the formula of the drink, client requirements, testing results and length of adjustments. Additionally it takes up to 3-5 months just to arrange the first production. So basically it means that the shortest possible time to develop and produce your drink is at least 4-6 months. Additionally, it takes some time for the transport, distribution etc. . It will take at least 6-8 months for you to see your product on the shelves. It’s a huge burden in case you have a bank loan or investors by your side.</p>
<p>MyDrink Beverages was working for a long time to find a way, how we could shorten the development processes and speed up the production of our client beverages. We are developing a system which we call lean beverage start-up methodology. The main idea of this methodology is to enable our clients to develop new products, launch them and test them at the shortest possible time.</p>

<p><strong>To what extent is this approach novel – beverage concept firms developing ideas for brand-led, finished products, rather than simply working to client specifications?</strong></p>
<p>As a <a title="MyDrink Beverages" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com">beverage development company</a> each day we are facing different type of clients. Usually our clients are comming with a specific idea and vision where they want to go or what they want to do. However, recently we saw a demand for ready-made beverage concepts. Usually small to medium enterprises starting with the turnover of 5-10 million euros doesn’t have enough resources to hire additional project managers, professional team of marketing specialist and experienced production managers. So they start to search for the companies who might offer them these services.<br />
We know from our work experience that usually <a title="Beverages Development" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com/beverage-development">beverage development</a> projects takes up to 9-12 months. I’m talking about recipe development, marketing development and production management. This is showing that small to medium enterprises are searching for the ways, how to lower the cost of product development by shortening product development cycle.<br />
We decided to cooperate with professional creative agencies with whom we can develop a finished ready-made product and cut NPD from 9-12 months to 1-2 months.</p>
<p><strong>What successes have you had with this approach to date – selling concepts, technical and marketing solutions to SMEs – and how is interest developing?</strong></p>
<p>It started 2 years ago when we decided to develop our own energy shot. We developed NapNock energy shot with ginko and siberian ginseng. We created also marketing strategy, packaging design, brand name, brand design, positioning strategy and website. However, due to the lack of financing we didn’t launch this project officially. Just three months ago we decided to sell this concept as a ready-made solution for someone who might be interested to launch this product. So we distributed this offer through our database of industry professionals, wholesalers, retailers  and distributors. We’ve got a lot of attention, what showed us that there is a demand for ready-made solutions. By the way, we managed to sell NapNock energy shot to UK based company.</p>
<p>Because of this success story right now we are developing a portfolio of ready-made solutions for <a title="Beverage Industry News &amp; Trends" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com/blog">beverage industry</a>.</p>
<p><strong>What advantage is there for SMEs in employing <a title="MyDrink Beverage Consultants" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com/beverage-consultants">MyDrink Beverages</a>, rather than developing and scoping out concepts, distribution and sales opportunities in house?</strong></p>
<p>Our main argument is that we are always offering our clients to save time and money.</p>
<p>I mentioned you before that average product development takes up to 9-12 months (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter). This solution enables SME to save time as they do not have to develop everything for such a long time. Basically, after the purchase of the concept they can launch a product during next 1-2 months or even faster. It depends whether they want to make any kind of updates (formula or design). They will not have to hire additional staff (marketers, designers, project managers, production managers).They will not spend money for taxes, salaries, phone calls, travelling, health insurance. And main advantage is that brand owner will be enabled to focus on product sales and marketing to the distributors or retailers. This brings the most value to his business.</p>
<p><strong>You talk about saving money, but let’s discuss the time factor – how can you cut NPD from 9-12 months to 1-2 months?</strong></p>
<p>First of all, lets talk about the process of formula development. Usually it takes between 2 to 3 months to have finished recipe of the drink. Secondly, contract manufacturing. Usually our clients are outsourcing the production of their products. It takes up to 2 or 3 months to arrange everything and prepare for the bottling. So until now we have at least half a year of the development.</p>
<p>Additionally, it takes 3-4 months to prepare the designs, marketing strategies, positioning strategies and websites. And this happens in case during the process there are no additional problems. People who are working in this industry know that usually there are some kind of problems..</p>
<p>Ready-Made concept solves all of these problems. After the purchase of the product you already have the finished recipe, contract manufacturing solution, pricing and marketing solution. Yes there is a possibility to make changes to the formula or the design. It is just a concept. However, the work is already done and you can start anytime. This is how we enable to save time and money.</p>

<p>There are many different types of trend in beverage industry: sweeteners, aromas, top ingredients etc.</p>
<p>In our opinion, beverage industry is going functional. We see a huge demand for all types of functional beverages. There are few concepts developed, sadly, the market is not ready yet.</p>
<p><b>Functional beverage concepts</b></p>
<p><i>Weight management drinks</i></p>
<p>Overweight is a huge health problems which bothers a numerous amount of people all over Europe and USA. Lots of scientists, medical practitioners, representatives of beauty, food or drink industries are searching for the best way how to cope with the mentioned problem. In Europe we, however, see a huge potential for weight management drinks. Market is only developing and there is plenty of space for new products to be launched.</p>
<p><i>Elderly consumer drinks</i></p>
<p>We call them “drinks for your body”. These types of drinks are focusing on problems for elderly consumers. For example, painful muscles or bones, tired eyes, hair loss etc.</p>
<p><i>Anti-Cholesterol management drinks</i></p>
<p>High cholesterol is the problem which might cause many health disorders. Anti-cholesterol drinks helps to reduce its amount in a body. We suppose, it is going to be a long-term tendency. However, companies who are focusing on functional beverages should start working on the development of these types of drinks as well.</p>
<p><i>Energy drink second edition</i></p>
<p>We believe that in 2013 new brands will approach energy drink development differently. Energy drinks will be going side by side with healthy beverages. Because new market is being developed, standard type energy drinks market is sharply decreasing.</p>
<p><i>Omega 3 drinks</i></p>
<p>Europe is crazy about omega 3. We see a huge potential for these types of drinks. Omega 3 will be mixed with juices, teas, water etc. . We believe that at 2013 we will see a lot of new brands in this field. We suggest to make a detailed analysis of the competitors.</p>

<p><em>Acidity regulators</em>: the most popular and at the same time the cheapest ingredient is citric acid, which is assumed to be a friendly E 330. But if you want to make your drink 100% natural you can use either vitamin C or tartaric acid, which is a product of natural fermentation process. Also, it is possible to use lemon juice concentrates.</p>
<p><em>Flavorings</em>: the taste of your drink is one of the most important parts. So, once again you have to think about the function of your drink. Natural drink dictates the usage of natural flavors. But if you sweeten your drink with artificial sweeteners then there are few different solutions which may also influence the taste.</p>
<p><em>Juice content</em>: 95% of requests we get include inquiry to add juice content. You have to keep in mind that juice content drink requires more investment than usual. Why? Firstly, the juice concentrates are quite expensive ingredients, especially concentrates of the berries or exotic fruits. Secondly, the filling procedure is more complicated. It needs either pasteurization or aseptic filling. Both of these fillings need a special bottles and caps which create additional cost.</p>
<p><em>Preservatives</em>: there are two possibilities &#8211; to have or not to have preservatives in a drink. Without preservatives drinks need pasteurization process. So, as mentioned above, the pasteurization process has a huge impact to your products price.</p>
<p><b> PACKAGING and FILLING. </b>We get quite a bit of inquires from people who have no idea about the minimum orders of the raw materials and filling volumes. It is important to understand that the first small quantities will be more expensive. Regarding the packaging, there is always a possibility to create your own packaging, but it will cost more than a standard one. So, sometimes it is better to take smaller risk &#8211; pick the standard packaging just to check the market. If it is successful – you can always change it!</p>
<p>However, the biggest mistake is way too high expectations. Lots of entrepreneurs think that <a title="Beverage Industry News &amp; Trends" href="http://mydrinkbeverages.com/blog">beverage industry</a> is easy money because of quick process and quick sales. Our last tip –  think wisely and you will create a success!</p>

<p>Usually sports drinks contain electrolytes or carbohydrates to boost energy. Although, it might be full of vitamins, proteins, amino acids or antioxidants, so it also differs functionally.</p>
<p><b>Water</b></p>
<p>If you sweat more than 2% of your body weight while training, it is very harmful and stressful for your heart. Also, the increase of body temperature causes disorder of physical and mental performance.</p>
<p><b>Sweetening</b></p>
<p>Many different sweeteners can be used for sports drinks &#8211; starting with sugar, fructose, maltodextrins, etc. Mostly, it influences the depletion of glycogen in muscles. Carbohydrates are the main glucose source for working muscles.</p>
<p><b>Electrolytes</b></p>
<p>During work out your body is losing lots of minerals with a sweat. The most common electrolytes that are being used in sports drinks are sodium chloride. Ten years ago entrepreneurs had to work with beverage development, production, marketing and distribution at the same time. The problem was that they couldn’t cover all of these topics at the same time. However, new trend is emerging. Currently we see a new trend which will change the industry during the next 5 years.</p>
<p>Nowadays, smart beverage entrepreneurs (or smart companies) are focusing on gathering team of professionals or partners with whom they could launch new products. Usually it is an alliance of several companies who are covering specific fields in beverage industry. It depends on the project, however, usually alliance is being formed with creative agencies, beverage development companies, distributors or even retailers. You have to be very careful before choosing your partners. These companies have to be professionals in their field, they have to add value to your project. In case you will choose wrong partners your project will fail.</p>
<p>Strong alliance can increase your success rate dramatically. For example, you own a company which works in retail and HoReCa sectors. You have already established a big number of outlets where you are selling your products. The day comes when you decide to develop your unique drink and launch it in your market. However, the problem is that you do not have any resources and knowledge in marketing and beverage development. What should you do?</p>
<p>You need to collaborate with industry professionals. Your decision to find professional partners in marketing (ideas) can save you a lot of time and money for marketing development. <p>1)      <strong>Find a place your product could call home. </strong>The most important thing for developing a healthy drink is to know where you are going to sell it. Is it your own country, where you are already aware of the problems that you might help solving, or maybe you know where people suffer from certain health problems that you could help to improve? It could be anywhere in the world. For example if your product is helping to fight obesity, you might find it more suited to countries that are trying to cope with thatcompared to your domestic market, where perhaps this is not an issue (yet). Idea</p>
<p>To make the strongest energy shot for the EU market. It had to be safe for human consumption so we had to develop the formula that reduced the possible heart dysfunction risks and to reduce the crash effect of the energy drinks to minimum. As the EU market was still missing the potential of the energy shots, we had to make the taste acceptable for the target market.</p>
<p>Ingredients</p>
<p>We came up to the idea to use high amounts of Ginkgo Biloba extract to reduce the heart load that caffeine, taurine and other stimulators effect. We cooperated with 3 big pharmaceutical research laboratories to find the right components for the maximum boosting power.<br />
As the functional ingredients in the drink were extremely bitter and we could not use any sugar, after rather short experimentation process we came up to an idea to use Green Tea and Lemon to make the taste acceptable and interesting. After the taste testing we adjusted the levels to suit our target consumer.</p>

<p>This product required short and strong name, that would sound a bit odd. The sound and easy pronunciation were the main requirements. That is how NapNock name was born.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are plenty of reasons why companies are outsourcing their soft drinks manufacturer. For example, they do not have enough resources to launch new filling lines. Some of the factories decide to focus only on one type of product while they outsource the production of secondary products elsewhere. Entrepreneurs do not have enough resources to build a filling line, so they outsource the production while focusing only on marketing and sales. Different companies &#8211; different reasons. Each of these companies face the same problem: How effectively outsource soft drinks manufacturing?</p>
<p>Our work experience shows that each beverage manufacturer has different working rules.  We have worked with ~300 drink manufacturers across Europe and Asia. So, we compiled a list of main questions.</p>
<p><strong>Technology</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>1. What kind of beverages they can bottle? Energy drinks, functional drinks, juices, water, alco drinks? Usually manufacturers focus on few types of beverages. Before choosing a manufacturer you have to know your requirements.</p>
<p>2. What type of packaging they can use? PET, aluminum cans, tetra-pack?</p>
<p>3. What is the packaging volume? 0,25l, 0,5l, 1l, 1,5l? What is their policy to unique mold development?</p>
<p>4. Do they have aseptic filling (It is a process by which a sterile product is packaged in a sterile container in a way that maintains sterility)?</p>
<p><strong>Company policy</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>1.What is the minimum order quantity? It should be also specified. In case you want to bottle a drink with your unique formula MOQ will be bigger, however, usually factories can offer their standard formula which they are using for other products or private label.</p>
<p>2. What are their payment terms? It is important in case you want to get a payment delay. However, usually for new clients factories do not give any payment delays and it is totally understandable.</p>
<p>3. If you are buying a larger quantity, is manufacturer willing to sign an agreement? It is crucial not to forget the paper work.  You have to determine whether manufacturer is a long term thinker or short term trader.</p>
<p>4. How do they plan their bottling? What is their policy and how do they work? For example, you are bottling 0,5l aluminum cans, however, manufacturer is bottling this packaging type only once per 2 months. In case you have an unplanned order and you do not have a product on stock you have to make a quick order at the factory. However, they will be bottling only after one month. And here you have a very big problem..</p>
<p>5. What is their attitude towards entrepreneurs or low quantities? Some factories are focusing only on large scale orders while some of them are also working with smaller ones. In case you are willing to buy a small order you have to find out whether factory is interested in it.</p>
<p><strong>Additional factors</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>1. Customers service quality. Are they replying emails daily or weekly? How do they react to problems? Are they fast or slow? Usually this turns out only when we start working with the factory. However, we usually transfer bottling elsewhere, if we see low quality customer services. Sometimes it is worthwhile paying more.</p>
<p>2. Client list. Check out what kind of products they are already producing. Try to contact those companies and ask whether they are happy about their services. You can get a lot of useful information!</p>
<p>3. Do manufacturer attend international exhibitions? It is worthwile to ask just because it will be comfortable for you to visit exhibition and talk with them. Additionaly, it shows that they are investing in their brand and communication with their clients.</p>
<p>4. Where are they based? You are planning to sell you drink in UK, but the manufacturer is based in Bulgaria? Is it worth it to bottle it over there? Logistic cost will be &gt;20% of your total product cost. Sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it is not. You have to evaluate this.</p>
<p>5. Last but not least: What is their pricing? There are different types of projects. Some of them focus only on price. We do not focus on it. Our two main concerns are the quality of customers service and the capabilities of manufacturer.</p>

<p>We have listed only few of the questions we have to answer before choosing the best factory for our clients. Each project is unique so each time it is different. Before choosing a factory you have to make an analysis. Do not be afraid and ask dumb questions. It is for your own good! In case you will choose a bad partner for your product bottling you have a big chance of failing. Do not do this mistake.</p>

This is the most often used packaging solution for the private label soft drinks, however recently it has started carving its niche in a private label alcohol drinks packing. Although this packaging solution still remains in the third place after glass bottles and metal cans it is expected to grow in the coming years. The PET bottles have been started to use in bottling wine, bear, white spirits and even whisky!</p>
<p>The newest trend is the wine packaged in the 750ml PET bottles. This solution was implemented in Swedish market when the Swedish state alcohol monopoly Systembolaget. This was introduced in 2008, however, it took off in 2010 when all wines were available in previously mentioned PET bottles. The advantages of this packaging solution are that they are lightweight, convenient and they incorporate excellent closure features. The other edge of a PET wine bottle is that it can be easily resealed. Also although many perceive PET wine bottle to be less prestigious that glass bottles it is hard to distinguish the difference between the two since the design is identical. Furthermore, PET bottles have better transparent properties which help to reveal the quality of wine.</p>
<p>The other noticeable trend is the increase of PET bottles in “live” (non-pasteurised) bear bottling. This is mainly because of the new distribution channels for the bear that have been growing recently &#8211; street kiosks. There is noticeable increase in this kind of selling points in the Eastern European Countries. The consumers are allowed to choose from 0.5, 1 or 2 litter bottles which are filled with the bear of their choice. This is the unique selling point for non-pasteurised bear which is rarely sold in traditional retail supermarkets.</p>
<p>In the USA the white spirits are mostly sold in PET bottles, they account for more than 50% of all packaging used for such products. Since the PET bottles have successfully penetrated the economic segment market, currently there are tries to implement them in premium alcohol drinks. For example MS Walker in USA has launched premium vodka in 1750ml PET bottle using heavier design so that it replicated the glass bottle.</p>
<p>The economy segment private label whisky was launched in South Korea which was bottled in PET. This allowed the company to introduce the smaller size bottles of 200ml which was aimed at those for whom the whisky in common sized bottles (500ml or 700ml) was too expensive.</p>
<p>From the current trends we can expect the growth of PET bottles usage in private label alcoholic beverages since they offer various advantages versus standard glass bottles or metal cans. We can expect the penetration of PET bottles in other segments of alcohol drinks which will help the brand owners to other higher quality products at a lower price.</p>

<p>Minimum order quantity. Yes. It is the main problem. Basically it depends on the manufacturer in-house requirements, your relationship with him and your product type. Personal relationship with the drink manufacturers is the main requirement. You can get a better or better offer only when you have good relationship with the factories.</p>
<p>Payment terms. Usually beverage manufacturers require 100% in advance. It is very hard to get a payment delay for a new client. One more time: Unless you have a good relationship with the factory you can’t get a better deal.</p>
<p>Replacement. Do you know that beverage manufacturers are not very interested to replace damaged products? Do you know how hard is to make an agreement with them to replace it? Have you ever faced this problem?</p>
<p>Flexibility. I’m not talking about the flexibility of beverage manufacturers. I’m talking about your product flexibility. It is very hard process to transfer bottling from your beverage manufacturer to another. Without any additional experience and knowledge you will definitely make mistakes.</p>
<p>Price. The last but not least. Do you think you are not over paying for your product? Are you sure about that? Do you personally know 30 different factories and their pricing? You have to have a detailed analysis of different beverage manufacturers. Moreover, you have to know their pricing and capabilities. You have to be prepared in case you want to have the best price for you product. Do you homework!</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: center;">We are very happy to announce that we are almost prepared for the launch of Dragoon antioxidant health drink. The official launch of it will be at first week of July in Lithuania.</p>
<p>I will shortly introduce the ingredients of this drink. We think that this drink is our masterpiece and we are very proud of it. Everyone who are interested in healthy drinks, healthy life will understand why those ingredients are necessary for your daily life.</p>
<p><strong>Grape Skin Extract</strong> &#8211; It is marketed as having anti-aging effects and for use as a dietary supplement to help lose weight. The resveratrol in grape skin is said to help lower cholesterol, combat cardiovascular disease, lower blood pressure and fight carcinogens. That is not to say it is a miracle cure all, but that as a daily supplement it can help to reduce certain health risks.</p>
<p><strong>Biotin</strong> also known as vitamin H, is of great importance for the biochemistry of the human organism. Biotin is involved in carbon dioxide transfer and therefore essential to the metabolism of carbohydrate and fat. Biotin helps in the synthesis of fatty acids, in energy metabolism, and in the synthesis of amino acids and glucose.</p>
<p><strong>Vitamin C</strong> is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning that your body doesn&#8217;t store it. We get what we need, instead, from food. You need vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It helps the body make collagen, an important protein used to make skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is essential for healing wounds, and for repairing and maintaining bones and teeth. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, along with vitamin E, beta-carotene, and many other plant-based nutrients. Antioxidants block some of the damage caused by free radicals, which occur naturally when our bodies transform food into energy. The build-up of free radicals over time may be largely responsible for the aging process and can contribute to the development of health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and arthritis.</p>
<p><strong>Niacin</strong> is a B vitamin. It occurs naturally in plants and animals, and is also added to many foods as a vitamin supplement. It is present in many vitamin and nutritional supplements.<br />
Niacin is used to treat and prevent a lack of natural niacin in the body, and to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. It is also used to lower the risk of heart attack in people with high cholesterol who have already had a heart attack.</p>

<p>My Drink was asked to showcase our new oriental influenced drinks, Namely the Dragoon and our Simply Umai Beauty potion.</p>
<p>The event was held at the amazing Pacific Oriental Restaurant in London and consisted of a mix of companies displaying their products.</p>
<p>The invitees were made up of members of the press, food and drink critics and industry professionals.</p>
<p>We gave them samples of our range of drinks; the response we received was simply amazing!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our energy drink was loved by everyone who tried it, many people asked us where they could buy it, and couldn’t believe that we offer it as a private label drink.</p>
<p>Next people sampled our Dragoon drink, again we could not have asked for any better response; the general consensus was that the drinks were wonderful.</p>
<p>Next we showcased the Nap Nock, and the feedback was very positive, They liked the name,taste and design.</p>
<p>However the star of the show was “Simply Umai “Beauty in a Bottle! – We literally had the press in frenzy, they thought it was absolutely amazing, they loved everything about the product, the look, the taste and the packaging was a total hit!</p>

your product. You have to see the niche market and you have to understand<br />
the consumer. Yes it is good to have a great idea, but will anybody be interested in it?</p>
<p>2. So you know your niche market and you know who will buy your product?<br />
It is a good start, however, second most common mistake is to copy the<br />
market leader. Do you want to manufacture a standard taste energy drink<br />
with different logo? We think it&#8217;s wrong! <strong>You have to think different, act</strong><br />
<strong>different and be different.</strong></p>
<p>3. Your product has to have a soul. You have to think about it like a real<br />
human being. You have to know what does he like, what kind of music does<br />
he listens to, what does he do, to which night clubs is he going and etc.<br />
. You have to create a real person. By that I mean that you have to spend<br />
as mush time as possible for marketing strategy and packaging design. Your<br />
product has to be different and eye catching.</p>
<p>4. You have to know where, when and how you will manufacture your product.<br />
You have to know the factories, minimum order quantities, pricing and etc.<br />
. Maybe it is worth it to find contract filling service provider who has a<br />
better knowledge in this field? You will save a lot of time and energy<br />
which you can spend on your marketing and distribution plans.</p>
<p>5. It is very important to think about your product distribution and<br />
storage. Are you planing to take care of it by yourself or are you planing<br />
to outsource?</p>
<p>6. How are you planing to distribute your product? Will you use services of local distributors or are you planing to do it by yourself? You have to find a solution for this because sometimes it is worth more to use services of distributors and to think only about sales and marketing.</p>
<p>7. Do you have a financial plan? Do you know when you will need some extra cash to manufacture your product? Do you know when is your break even point?</p>
<p>8. Do you want to start with a large quantity or do you want to lower your risk? Maybe you want to test the market with a lower quantity? It is always smart to test your product, however, the price for the product will be higher. You have to understand that.<br />
9. What are your goals? How many liters of you beverage are you planing to sell? If your plan is not going the way you wanted, when you will stop the project?</p>
<p>10. Last but not least. Why are you doing this? Do you want to be rich or do you want to test your idea? Is it important for you or not? Beverage business is a tough one, so you have to be ready..</p>

We think that Globalization of the 20<sup>th</sup> century, where brands like Coca-Cola, Nike, McDonalds and so on grew strong is over.
